*Core Values of Faith Baptist Church of Fairhope* *God is sovereign Lord.* Worship must be centered and focused on God alone who is worthy of worship and praise. “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). *Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ alone.* Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). *Every Christian is a minister.* The church is the body of Christ (Christ himself being the head) made up of those who have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Therefore, every member of the church is important and is a minister called by Christ to minister effectively through the church in the area of his or her spiritual giftedness (I Corinthians 12:12-26). *Spiritual leaders are disciple-making servants of Christ.* Spiritual leaders within the church are accountable to Christ and are responsible to disciple God’s people toward spiritual maturity and equip them for ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16). *All people matter to God.* All people matter to God, therefore, ought to matter to the church (Matthew 28:19-20). *Every Christian is a witness.* God has given every Christian the privilege of sharing Christ. Therefore, Christians should move into the unbelieving world and build witnessing relationship with individuals who need to come to Christ (Acts 1:8). *Christians are to be devoted to one another in Christ’s love.* Christians are to be devoted to Christ and to one another in brotherly love. Therefore, all of God’s people are to be diligent to maintain the unity of the church by bearing with one another in Christ’s love, by attentively serving one another, and by encouraging one another toward godliness in every area (Ephesians 4:2-3). *Fellowship among God’s people is vital.* Fellowship among God’s people is vital to building biblical community and presenting an attractive witness to the world. (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:23-25). *The church must be relevant to its culture.* The church should seek to be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. God’s Word, the Bible, is inspired by God and is authoritative, living, active and relevant to meet the needs of any age (Hebrews 4:12). Therefore, the church should embrace change as a friend and opportunity to learn and discover new methods of reaching people where they are with the gospel. *God honors faith.* God honors faith. Therefore, the church must prayerfully seek and follow God’s leadership through the Holy Spirit as He makes God’s will known.
