Fairhope Street Artists
Fairhope Alabama is one of the most beautiful places on earth. A wonderful little southern town, located on the bluffs overlooking Mobile Bay, Fairhope is noted for flowers, soft summer afternoons, old oaks and friendly, colorful shops in the downtown area. Fairhope also has a tradition of art. It is said that Fairhope is home to more published authors than any other place in America. The Eastern Shore Art Association has been home to painters and sculptors for many years. A rich tradition of Plein Air painting has attracted artists to the streets of Fairhope throughout its history. With this atmosphere in place, it was only a matter of time before artists would want to sit and paint outside so as to enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. Thus, Fairhope Street Artists were created. Fairhope Street Artists is headed up by the well-known local artist, Bill Harrison, and comprised of various artists. These artists sit on the streets of Downtown Fairhope with easels on the pavement and brush in hand to create pieces of art that reflect this community's culture, long standing traditions, and local icons that represent the area. *Worship With Us* Fairhope UMC is committed to offering creative, inspirational worship services each Sunday morning in a variety of formats.Often we find our guests and members like to visit the different worship experiences. Our preachers share responsibility for offering the messages at the various worship services. Music by various vocal and handbell choirs of the church are offered at the services of worship on a rotating basis. Early risers enjoy the *8:30 Service* that follows a traditional format using familiar hymns and a creed or responsive reading. Holy Communion is celebrated monthly. Persons who enjoy singing a wider range of music, from old hymns to new songs and choruses find that *9:40 Worship* offers a refreshing blend of music. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. *10:55 Sanctuary Worship* has a broad appeal with its lively, traditional format. Outstanding organ literature from our organist and choral music from the Chancel Choir lead the worshipper in praise and thanksgiving. Holy Communion is celebrated monthly. *The Gathering* is a contemporary worship service starting at 10:55 in our Fellowship Hall. The music is primarily Contemporary Christian mixed with upbeat, traditional hymns led by our Praise Band and Vocalists. The dress and atmosphere are casual.
